What 3D animation production involves
A complete product animation moves through six stages. First comes script and storyboard: translating selling points into camera language and deciding what every second must communicate. Second is modeling: building geometry accurate down to the chamfer, from engineering drawings or scanned references.
Third is materials and lighting: the reflectance of metal, the refraction of glass, the micro-texture of leather — these decide whether the image reads as premium. Fourth is animation and rigging: mechanical parts move by real logic, and the camera gains a sense of breath.
Fifth is rendering: physically based ray tracing computed frame by frame, where one high-quality frame can take minutes. Sixth is post-production: grading, particles, typography and sound design, turning isolated frames into a film with rhythm.
